The 8MSAX.R0-68 belongs to the 8MS Three Phase Synchronous Motors series from B & R Automation. As a three-phase synchronous motor, it converts electrical power into rotational motion for positioning and velocity control in automated machinery. It is intended for continuous-duty motion where high positional accuracy and consistent torque are required in industrial automation cells. Because it operates as a synchronous design, shaft speed follows the commanded electrical frequency closely, which supports coordinated movement with other controlled axes.
This model delivers a rated speed of 4500 rpm, allowing rapid axis movement while maintaining accurate control. Motion feedback is provided by a Resolver, which lets the drive monitor rotor position during operation. Housing protection is provided by an IP64 enclosure that resists dust ingress and water spray. The stator is wound for 6 poles, which affects the electrical frequency needed to reach synchronous speed and can influence running smoothness. It runs continuously in the S1 duty cycle, so the motor is intended for steady operation under load. Connections exit on the A side, which helps keep cable routing consistent in compact machine frames. The motor uses self-cooling, so heat is removed through surface airflow without external fans.
