The 8MSA7M.R0-D80D is a three-phase synchronous motor produced by B&R Automation for the 8MS Three Phase Synchronous Motors series. Within an automation cell, the unit converts drive current into rotary motion that positions tooling, conveyors, or machine axes with electronic precision. Its medium frame size and integrated feedback hardware allow machine controllers to maintain closed-loop motion control without external transducers, making the motor suitable for coordinated multi-axis applications.
During installation, cabling is routed upward because the connection points are on the top of the housing. Heat is removed through a self-cooling airflow path, eliminating the need for external fans and simplifying the surrounding equipment layout. The motor can reach a rated speed of 3000 rpm, supporting general-purpose servo applications that require responsive and controlled movement. Its IP65 enclosure rating protects the windings from dust and low-pressure water jets, which is useful on packaging or washdown lines. The shaft accepts up to 500 N of axial force during mounting, so couplings or pulleys can be installed without exceeding the stated bearing limit.
