Product Description:
The 8MSA7L.E2-C009 is a three-phase synchronous motor built by B&R Automation as part of the 8MS Three Phase Synchronous Motors series. In material-handling cells, packaging stations, and general motion axes, it provides rotational power that is synchronized to the drive inverter’s frequency, allowing precise speed and torque regulation. The compact frame, encoder interface, and sealed housing let this motor integrate directly into servo systems without external gearheads. By using permanent-magnet excitation, it supplies continuous torque with high positional repeatability for automated equipment.
Electrical and mechanical interfaces are arranged on side B, so power and feedback cables exit toward the drive cabinet, simplifying routing in tight enclosures. Heat is removed through a self-cooling aluminum housing, eliminating the need for fans or external liquid circuits. The enclosure carries an IP65 rating that blocks dust ingress and low-pressure water jets, permitting installation on open machine frames. Under nominal excitation, the rotor reaches 3000 rpm, aligning with typical servo-drive output stages. Position feedback electronics tolerate signal frequencies up to 6 kHz at -3 dB, allowing high-speed interpolation without loss of resolution during rapid cycles.
The inductive EnDat single-turn encoder supplies 32 lines per revolution and absolute angle information with a precision of ±400 arc-seconds, supporting closed-loop control without secondary sensors. During mounting, the shaft can accept up to 500 N of axial force, so couplings and pinions may be pressed on without damage. A factory-installed oil seal protects the internal bearings, and the lack of a holding brake reduces mass for dynamic axes. The smooth shaft end eases pairing with clamp or friction couplers, while the size-7, length-L stator provides strong rated torque for acceleration tasks in multi-axis automation.
