The 8MSA5L.R0-V6 is manufactured by B & R Automation for the 8MS Three Phase Synchronous Motors series. It is a three-phase permanent-magnet motor intended for coordinated motion tasks in industrial automation, where it can drive conveyor sections, indexing tables, or articulated robot joints under the control of an ACOPOS inverter. Integrated position feedback allows the controller to synchronize electrical excitation with the rotor angle, maintaining commanded speed and torque during rapid load changes. This closed-loop operation supports precise acceleration, deceleration, and positioning across demanding production cycles.
The motor relies on a self-cooling housing that dissipates heat through its aluminum frame, so no external fan or liquid cooling jacket is required. The frame designation of 5 indicates the stator diameter and provides a known mounting pattern and shaft height for gearhead or coupling selection. A stack length code of L extends the active magnetic core, increasing continuous torque without changing the flange outline. B & R classifies the motor in the large relative rated torque category.
