Product Description:

The 8MSA5L.E1-V4 is a resilient three-phase synchronous motor designed by B&R Automation for the most dynamic systems and automation applications. Characterized by its high torque rating, self-cooling mechanism, and multi-turn EnDat encoder, this servo machine exhibits excellent dynamics and positioning precision during operation. With its compact size and low net mass, this product is perfect for automating critical servo systems with strict space requirements. Like other 8MS motors by B&R, the 8MSA5L.E1-V4 utilizes NdFeB permanent magnets and relies on sinusoidal commutation to operate seamlessly. Specifically, the EnDat encoder incorporated in this machine has a resolution of 512 lines and a frequency limit of more than 100 kHz.

In total, the 8MSA5L.E1-V4 incorporates three pole pairs, or six poles, separated mechanically by 60 degrees. To function normally, this servo motor must be connected to a compatible B&R Automation drive with a three-phase mains input voltage of 400 to 480 VAC. Similar to other 8MS motor products, this machine employs Intercontec’s circular connector technology. At most, this motor can tolerate a maximum hotspot temperature of 155 degrees Celsius, owing to its insulation class. During operation, this servo motor can maintain rated output within an environmental temperature range of -15 to 40 degrees Celsius. Beyond the rated range, the rated current of the motor starts to decrease by 10% per 10 degrees Celsius of temperature increase.

Equipped with a standard mechanical bearing, the 8MSA5L.E1-V4 can withstand a maximum radial force of around 750 N at a shaft speed of 4500 rpm. At the same shaft speed, this servo motor can deliver an output power and torque of 4.24 kW and 9 Nm, respectively. At these nameplate values, the corresponding winding current is around 8.9 A.
