The 8MSA4M.E3-V40C synchronous motor is produced by B&R Automation within the 8MS Three-Phase Synchronous Motors series. It is intended for closed-loop servo axes where position and speed must follow drive commands precisely. The motor converts electrical energy into controlled rotary torque for conveyors, pick-and-place heads, indexing tables, and other industrial automation equipment. Its synchronous operation allows the connected servo drive to regulate movement accurately under changing speed and load conditions.
Thermal management relies on a self-cooling design, so the housing dissipates generated heat without additional fans or external liquid-cooling circuits. The feedback device has a carrier frequency of ≥ 6 kHz at the point where signal amplitude drops by 3 dB, supporting responsive position measurement. Its angular error is limited to ±400 arcseconds, which helps the motion controller maintain registration during printing, cutting, or coordinated transfer operations. The scanning head detects shaft movement using 32 lines per revolution, and internal interpolation provides the drive with finer position increments for smoother velocity regulation.
