Product Description:

The 8MS product series by B&R Automation is one of the most accomplished product lines, featuring a wide operating range. Servo motors manufactured under the 8MS product series may come with or without a built-in cooling system. The 8MSA4L.R0-67 is a subproduct of the 8MS product line, featuring a fanless construction. To facilitate cooling during and after operation, this compact servo motor relies on heat transfer processes such as conduction and convection. With its aluminum housing, this servo motor has surprisingly good thermal dissipation characteristics. Like other servo motors, this machine has a resolver device that provides the feedback signal required by the servo drive.

To function properly, the 8MSA4L.R0-67 must be connected to a compatible servo drive. The servo drive serves two main purposes for the motor. First, it provides the main input voltage. Second, it protects the motor from most types of electrical and thermal faults. As a relatively large servo motor, the 8MSA4L.R0-67 can achieve high output torques during rated operation. In particular, this servo device can be configured at three main shaft velocities: 3000, 4500, and 6000 rpm. Depending on the configured rated speed, the output torque and power of the shaft may vary.

When configured at a rated speed of 4500 rpm, the 8MSA4L.R0-67 achieves the following shaft output values: 5.6 Nm, 2.64 kW, and 5.6 A. On the other hand, when operated at a nominal speed of 6000 rpm, the rated torque, power, and current become 4.5 Nm, 2.83 kW, and 6 A, respectively. By lowering the rated speed to 3000 rpm, this servo motor can operate at a high rated torque of 6.4 Nm. At this torque output, the motor achieves a corresponding output power and current of 2.01 kW and 4.35 A, respectively.
