Product Description:
The 8MSA3X.R0-32 is a three-phase synchronous motor produced by B & R Automation within the 8MS Three Phase Synchronous Motors series. Designed for integration with compatible AC drive platforms, the unit converts electrical input into controlled rotary motion for positioning and speed-regulated tasks in industrial automation. Its frame size, length code, and resolver feedback allow the motor to be paired with B & R servo inverters for conveyors, gantries, or packaging axes that require repeatable acceleration and precise torque regulation.
The connection leads exit on the A-side, which directs cable routing along the machine frame. Heat is removed by a self-cooling system that relies on natural convection, so no external blower is necessary. Under rated conditions, the rotor turns at 3000 rpm, while the motor provides an extra-large relative rated torque for demanding loads. A factory-installed holding brake is included. When engaged, the brake applies 4 Nm of static torque to keep vertical or suspended masses from drifting after power is removed. The motor has an X length code, which provides a longer active stack for increased torque density during continuous operation.
During mounting, the shaft may be subjected to an axial force of up to 200 N without damaging the bearings. The output uses a smooth shaft, simplifying direct coupling to gearboxes or pulleys when a keyed connection is not required. An oil seal is not fitted, so the front end must be protected from fluid intrusion in exposed installations. Position feedback is provided by a resolver built on the BRX platform. This sensor has a nonlinearity of ±1 angular minute and a precision window of ±10 angular minutes, supporting accurate position and velocity feedback for the Size 3 stator. Resolver signals allow the connected servo inverter to monitor rotor angle and regulate torque throughout acceleration, steady-speed operation, and deceleration.
