Product Description:
The 8MSA3S.E1-B6 is a synchronous motor which is built to offer reliable, efficient and scalable solutions for industrial automation tasks. It is the product of B & R Automation categorized in the 8MS Three Phase Synchronous Motors series.
The 8MSA3S.E1-B6 Synchronous Motor has a key of a small block size and keyway (groove in the shaft) which is used to securely connect the motor shaft to the load. It is equipped with an oil seal according to DIN 3760 Form A which ensures that contaminants like dust, moisture or oil don't enter the motor housing through the rotating shaft. The highest ambient temperature in which it can safely operate is up to 55 °C and beyond this limit its performance and component lifespan may degrade. It comes with strict manufacturing tolerances for shaft alignment and flange flatness which ensures minimal vibration, accurate coupling and smooth mechanical integration with machinery. For continuous and reliable operation without performance derating or damage the recommended temperature range is -15° C to +40° C. The module uses roller bearings whose durability and load capacities are based on DIN ISO 281. The number of magnetic poles in the stator is 6 which generally result in lower base speed and higher torque at a given frequency.
The 8MSA3S.E1-B6 synchronous motor shaft can be dynamically balanced according to DIN ISO 8821 standards. Its shaft dimensions and shape are per DIN 748 Form E standards which ensures compatibility with standardized mechanical couplings or gearboxes. It is designed for uninterrupted operation at rated load without needing rest periods as its operation mode is according to IEC 60034-1: S1. It can work efficiently in 5 to 95% humid environments but the condensation which causes electrical shorts must not occur.
Frequently Asked Questions about 8MSA3S.E1-B6:
Q: How does the six-pole configuration benefit the 8MSA3S.E1-B6 synchronous motor performance?
A: The six-pole design allows for lower base speed and increased torque output. This makes the motor ideal for high-torque, low-speed applications in precise automation setups.
Q: Why is the shaft balanced using a half-key arrangement in this motor?
A: The half-key arrangement compensates for the key’s mass, ensuring balanced rotation. This reduces vibration and extends bearing life under continuous operation.
Q: How does the DIN 42955 tolerance R help in motor alignment?
A: It ensures tight shaft and flange tolerances for precise alignment. This minimizes mechanical stress and helps in smooth coupling with load equipment.
Q: What’s the role of the oil seal in 8MSA3S.E1-B6 synchronous motor?
A: The DIN 3760 Form A oil seal protects the internal components from contamination. This increases reliability and reduces maintenance frequency in demanding environments.
Q: Why is the motor rated for IEC 60034-1 S1 operation mode?
A: This ensures it can run continuously at rated load without derating. It is ideal for 24/7 industrial applications requiring non-stop motor usage.
