The 8MSA3M.R0-I6 is a three-phase synchronous motor manufactured by B & R Automation for the 8MS Three Phase Synchronous Motors series. Designed as a servo-class drive element, it provides controlled rotary motion for conveyors, feeders, and other automated machinery. A compatible servo drive regulates the motor’s position and velocity to support coordinated acceleration and deceleration profiles. This closed-loop operation allows motion axes to respond accurately to commands while accommodating changes in operating speed and mechanical load.
This model reaches a rated speed of 6000 rpm and has a medium relative rated torque, making it suitable for midrange load requirements without an unnecessarily large drive. Thermal management relies on a self-cooling housing, so the motor does not require an external blower or liquid cooling circuit. Power, feedback, and brake conductors are routed on the B-side, which supports organized cable routing in multi-axis machinery. The motor uses size 3 stator laminations and length code M to balance torque capacity against its physical footprint. A smooth shaft accommodates backlash-free clamping couplings for direct connection to the driven mechanism. The unit is built without a holding brake or an oil seal, reducing rotor inertia and avoiding components that are unnecessary in clean, horizontal installations.

Overall system precision remains within ±10 angular minutes, helping the servo loop maintain accurate positioning and a low following error. During installation, the permissible axial force applied to the shaft must not exceed 200 N to prevent damage to the bearings. Installers should keep coupling alignment accurate and avoid transferring excessive thrust to the motor shaft when fitting connected components.
