Product Description:
The 8MSA3M.R0-B4 is a three-phase synchronous servo motor produced by B & R Automation within the 8MS Three Phase Synchronous Motors series. Designed as a drive element for positioning or speed-regulated axes, the unit converts electrical energy into controlled mechanical rotation in industrial automation systems. The motor size is designated as 3, giving it frame dimensions compatible with moderate-power applications.
At a rated speed of 3000 rpm, the rotor can match common servo drive outputs for packaging, material-handling, or assembly lines. Heat is removed through a self-cooling housing, so no external fan or liquid circuit is required. Electrical and feedback connectors are oriented on the B side, allowing cable routing parallel to the machine frame. During installation, the bearing set can accept up to 200 N of axial force without compromising its service life, which is useful when pulleys or couplings are pressed onto the shaft. The driven element attaches to a smooth shaft end that eliminates keyway stress concentrations and supports clamp or shrink-fit hubs.
Position feedback relies on a BRX resolver, and the controller can calibrate motion because resolver nonlinearity remains within ±1 angular minute while overall precision remains within ±10 angular minutes. The mechanical output provides medium torque relative to the 8MS platform, balancing inertia and acceleration for general-purpose duties. Length code M provides an intermediate magnetic stack that supports the available torque without increasing the frame diameter. No holding brake is fitted, so static load retention must be provided by the drive or external mechanical equipment. The housing is supplied without an oil seal, so axial sealing must be provided by the coupled equipment.
