The 8MSA3L.R0-67 is a three-phase synchronous motor produced by B & R Automation for the 8MS Three Phase Synchronous Motors series. It serves as an electromechanical actuator in automated factories, converting drive-controller current into controlled rotary motion for conveyors, pick-and-place axes, and spindle applications. Its integrated feedback system delivers real-time position data that supports accurate closed-loop operation within multi-axis motion platforms. The motor can respond to changing commands while the controller monitors rotor position and corrects motion errors during demanding production cycles.
Rated operation reaches 4500 rpm, giving the rotor sufficient speed for rapid indexing while retaining thermal headroom. Heat is removed through a self-cooling housing, eliminating the need for forced air or liquid circuits. The shaft can withstand up to 200 N of axial load during coupling or pulley installation, helping protect the bearings against preload damage. Power and feedback lines exit on the A-side, simplifying harness routing when several motors are mounted in parallel. It is also supplied without an oil seal, requiring the front bearing area to be protected from lubricant splash and other liquids. Suitable guarding around the shaft interface can reduce the chance of contamination reaching the bearing during normal machine operation.
