It is a three-phase synchronous motor intended for precise, cyclic motion in industrial automation cells, where fast velocity changes and exact positioning are required to coordinate tooling, conveyors, or packaging axes. Its permanent-magnet rotor supports responsive motion and is locked in place during standby by an integrated holding brake that delivers 4 Nm of torque, preventing load drift on vertical axes.
This model reaches a rated speed of 6000 rpm, providing high mechanical bandwidth for rapid indexing tasks. Heat is removed through a self-cooling design, so no external fan or liquid cooling circuit is necessary. Position feedback is handled by a resolver, whose sinusoidal windings produce an analog angle signal. Resolver nonlinearity is limited to ±1 angular minute, supporting consistent interpolation accuracy in the drive. The feedback device maintains a total precision window of ±10 angular minutes, providing the electrical reference needed for closed-loop speed and torque regulation.
The motor has a frame classified as size 3 and a housing length marked as L, making it suitable for mid-frame gearboxes while keeping rotor inertia moderate. The shaft can withstand up to 200 N of axial force during installation without damaging the bearings. Its end is finished as a smooth cylinder that accommodates clamp or press-fit couplings. Wiring exits on the A side of the frame to align with cable trays routed from the drive cabinet. No oil seal is fitted, so the mounting interface must remain dry, while the motor’s large relative rated torque supports demanding acceleration profiles. The resolver electronics use the BRX type code for compatibility with standard B & R servo controllers.
