The 8MSA3L.E0-32 is one of B&R Automation’s best-selling three-phase AC motors under the classic 8MS product line. Featuring a type-3 body frame, this 8MS servo motor is optimized for high-speed applications and systems. Particularly, this servo machine can be operated at three different rated velocities: 3000 rpm, 4500 rpm, and 6000 rpm. Depending on the rated velocity configured, other parameters will vary. At most, however, this synchronous machine can achieve a peak speed of 12,000 rpm. Without a holding brake, this motor can achieve a maximum rotational acceleration of 83333 rad/s^2 and a rotor moment of inertia of 1.2 kg(cm^2).

Owing to its small construction and size, the 8MSA3L.E0-32 requires less time to achieve stable operating and resting temperatures. Based on its datasheet, this motor has a thermal time constant of 32 minutes. When operated at 4500 rpm, this servo motor achieves a rated torque, power, and current of 2 Nm, 0.94 kW, and 2.2 A, respectively. On the other hand, when operated at a nominal speed of 3000 rpm, the nameplate ratings of this motor are as follows: 2.15 Nm, 0.68 kW, and 1.62 A. Finally, when operated at a rated velocity of 6000 rpm, the machine delivers a torque of 1.8 Nm, a power of 1.13 kW, and a current of 2.3 A.

Without a blocking brake incorporated, the maximum mass of the 8MSA3L.E0-32 is around 3.2 kilograms. To safely accommodate the rated current of the machine during operation, the minimum cable cross section must be at least 1.5 square millimeters. Regardless of the nominal speed used, the maximum torque achievable by this machine is around 10 Nm. Wake Industrial provides a one-year warranty for this B&R motor.
