One of the 8MS series' small and precisely engineered three-phase synchronous motors, the B&R Automation 8MSA3L.E0-31, may be incorporated into high-precision motion systems.
This motor, with its 3-frame size and flange mounting arrangement, would be a good choice in a robot application, a pick-and-place machine, or a mini-automation machine where it needs to be firmly mounted in a small physical footprint. The model has an addition of an input shaft size, the E0, and includes the 3-stage gearbox with a gear ratio of 31:1. It provides regulated speed cutback and force increase in such a way that it can offer an utmost peak output torque of 1.6 Nm. The motor has been designed with low backlash, normally less than 8 arcminutes, so it can be used on precision positioning where mechanical movement has to be reduced. The 8MSA3L.E0-31 accommodates high motor speeds of up to 6000 RPM, and it can control the motor promptly.
