The 8MSA3L.R0-W0 is a three-phase synchronous motor manufactured by B & R Automation for the 8MS Three Phase Synchronous Motors series. It combines motor size 3 with length code L, allowing it to fit medium-duty axes with limited mounting depth. A self-cooling housing removes heat without external blowers, and the power, feedback, and brake connectors are routed on side B to simplify cable runs. During operation, the unit converts controlled stator currents into accurate shaft motion while a BRX resolver supplies position data to the drive controller.
Under continuous load, the motor delivers 0.99 kW at a rated speed of 4500 rpm and a rated torque of 2.1 Nm; the required electrical input is 2.1 A. The torque constant is 1.04 Nm/A, meaning each ampere of phase current produces just over one newton-meter of torque. During acceleration peaks, the shaft can withstand 10 Nm while the motor draws up to 12.4 A.
