The 8MSA2X.R0-I8 is a three-phase synchronous motor manufactured by B&R Automation for the 8MS Three Phase Synchronous Motors series. It converts controlled current from a servo drive into precise rotary motion for indexing tables, feeders, and compact gantry axes. This motor is suited to automated machinery that requires repeatable positioning and stable torque in a compact package.
This model reaches a nominal speed of 6000 rpm, which supports fast axis movement and high surface speed before any reduction stage. Cooling is handled by a self-cooling housing, so the motor does not require a separate fan or liquid circuit during normal operation. A spring-applied brake rated at 1.8 Nm holds the shaft when power is removed. All power, feedback, and brake leads exit on the B side, which can simplify cable routing in tight machine spaces.
The shaft can tolerate up to 200 N of axial force during coupling assembly, which helps protect the bearings from overload. Its magnetic design provides an extra large relative rated torque, allowing strong continuous output for its frame size. Position feedback comes from a resolver with nonlinearity limited to ±1 angular minute. The sensing element follows the BRX specification for compatibility with standard B&R servo drives.
