Product Description:
The 8QLSA24.S9060S100-3 is a synchronous motor produced by B & R Automation for the 8LS Synchronous Motors series. In machine tools, packaging stations, or pick-and-place gantries, this motor supplies closed-loop torque and speed so that a servo drive can position a load or follow a motion profile with high repeatability. The mechanical end of the unit has a 70 mm flange that corresponds to IEC size 70, and the stack length is identified by length code 2.
During continuous operation, the rotor delivers a nominal torque of 0.35 Nm at a nominal speed of 6000 rpm while drawing only 0.48 A of phase current. For acceleration or brief overloads, it can reach a stall torque of 0.4 Nm and a peak torque of 1.6 Nm. The winding supports speeds up to 9000 rpm, providing overspeed headroom for rapid indexing. Four pole pairs work with the drive’s current vector to generate torque. The single-cable hybrid connection routes power and feedback through one shielded lead, reducing the required cable tray space. The motor can accept axial thrust loads up to 43 N without additional bearings.
The hybrid cable carries EnDat 2.2 signals from the multi-turn encoder, which provides a feedback resolution of 19/12 bits and stores up to 4,096 absolute turns. Integrated functional safety allows the drive to implement safe torque off without external relays. Thermal and dynamic behavior are influenced by the rotor inertia of 0.12 kg·cm², allowing fast speed changes without causing control-loop instability. Continuous mechanical output is limited to 220 W, making the motor compatible with compact drives that operate from 48 V to 60 V DC links. The encoder protocol maintains deterministic position data even when the motor is driven backward during power-off movement.
