Product Description:
B&R Automation manufactures the 8LSP96.D1022P005-3 as part of its 8LS Synchronous Motors series. The unit is a three-phase synchronous motor built for direct rotational power in industrial automation. It is intended to drive conveyors, mixers, and other automated axes that need high continuous torque with integrated feedback control. This arrangement supports closed-loop motion where stable speed and accurate position response are required during repeated duty cycles.
The motor delivers a continuous mechanical output of 74875 W at a rated shaft speed of 2200 rpm, which corresponds to a nominal load of 325 Nm. For short overloads, it can reach 1000 Nm, and each ampere of phase current produces 2.21 Nm/A. Electrical losses stay low with a stator resistance of 0.022 Ω, and dynamic current rise is shaped by a 0.83 mH inductance. A back-EMF level of 134.04 V per 1000 rpm matches the drive electronics, while the 622 kg cm² moment of inertia balances fast acceleration with load damping. The rotor warms gradually because the thermal time constant is 69 minutes. Position data comes from an optical EnDat 2.2 encoder with 25 single-turn bits and 12 multi-turn bits, plus absolute tracking across 4096 revolutions. Axial loading up to 1256 N is permissible, and the four pole pairs support smooth field-oriented control.
A built-in Standard 24 VDC fan forces air through the frame for cooling. The 0° connection direction routes cabling straight out on the A-side through a terminal box. Installation is flexible because the housing provides both flange and foot mounting, and the interface ring measures 269.9 mm. The shaft end is smooth, no oil seal is fitted, and the motor is supplied without a holding brake. The motor uses length code 6 and designation 8LSP, while product revision 3 identifies the exact build state.
