The 8LSN motor pairs with compatible AC servo drives and delivers constant torque across a wide speed range, while its compact flange frame supports direct installation without adapter plates.
The flange has an outer dimension of 142 mm, allowing the motor to fit compatible square-flange gearboxes and provide rigid mounting. The rotor has a rated shaft speed of 3000 rpm, providing a continuous operating point that the servo drive can regulate during production cycles. Position feedback is supplied by an inductive EnDat sensor selected for reliable operation around dust and oil. It transmits digital position data using protocol version 2.1, allowing rapid absolute-position updates without a homing cycle. The encoder resolution is 19/12 bits for single-turn and multi-turn position data, giving the controller precise angular and revolution information. Thermal management relies on self-cooling through natural heat dissipation from the motor housing, eliminating the need for an external fan and avoiding the additional wiring associated with forced-air cooling.
The encoder stores complete revolutions and supports a multi-turn range of 4,096 revolutions, allowing machinery to retain its positional reference after a power cycle. The cables exit through an interface with an angled swivel orientation, which eases routing in confined spaces and permits the connection direction to be adjusted for strain relief. Torque is transmitted through a smooth shaft that works with clamping couplings or shrink discs, providing secure engagement without the keyway used by keyed shaft designs.
