Product Description:
The 8LSE84.E1015D200-3 is a three-phase synchronous motor built by B&R Automation for the 8LS Synchronous Motors series. The unit is supplied in a standard configuration with a mounting flange for rigid attachment to machine frames or gearboxes. Within an automation cell, it converts controlled three-phase electrical power into regulated shaft torque for positioning tables, indexing stations, and coordinated drive groups. Its electromechanical design supports precise electronic commutation, while digital feedback allows a compatible servo drive to regulate position, speed, and torque during operation.
The motor has length code 4 and a front flange with a bolt-circle diameter of 240 mm. Heat is removed through a liquid-cooled A-side flange, which helps maintain the winding temperature during continuous operation. The rotor operates at a rated speed of 1500 rpm. Motion feedback is provided by an optical EnDat sensor that transmits position data using EnDat version 2.1. A standard holding brake keeps the shaft stationary when motor power is removed. The motor does not have an oil seal, so its installation should prevent process fluids from reaching the shaft opening. These features correspond to product revision 3.
Power and feedback leads exit through an angled swivel housing fitted with a surface-mount connector. This arrangement allows the cables to be oriented appropriately without placing excessive strain on the cable entries or the machine wall. The encoder provides 13-bit single-turn and 12-bit multi-turn resolution, allowing the drive to retain detailed absolute position information. It can track absolute position across 4096 revolutions, eliminating the need for a new homing cycle after a normal shutdown. A smooth shaft end transmits torque without a keyway, which supports the use of precision clamping couplings and helps minimize vibration. The mounting flange provides a rigid mechanical interface, while the swivel connection supports flexible cable routing in confined machine layouts.
