Product Description:
The 8LSC46.DB030S105-3 synchronous servo motor is produced by B&R Automation within the 8LS Synchronous Motors series. This three-phase synchronous unit belongs to the 8LSC product line and converts inverter output into controlled rotary torque. It is intended for positioning tables, conveyors, packaging equipment, and other automated axes that require accurate speed and position control. When paired with a compatible servo drive, the motor responds to closed-loop commands and maintains controlled motion as operating loads change.
Electrical power, encoder signals, and digital data pass through a single-cable solution, reducing the number of connections between the motor and drive. The feedback system uses inductive EnDat sensing and supports EnDat 2.2 bidirectional communication for transmitting position and operating data. Its encoder provides a resolution of 19 bits for single-turn position and 12 bits for multi-turn position. Electronic counting covers a multi-turn range of 4096 mechanical revolutions, allowing the drive to obtain absolute position information after a restart without requiring a new homing cycle. The rotor has a nominal operating speed of 3000 rpm, making it suitable for medium-inertia applications that require rapid and repeatable movement. Continuous operation is supported by a built-in fan assembly powered by a 230 VAC supply, which directs airflow across the motor housing to remove heat from the stator windings.
The motor has an ISO square mounting flange with a 100 mm bolt circle for attachment to machine frames or compatible gearboxes. Its housing length corresponds to code 6 within the series, providing the body dimensions associated with this motor configuration. Torque is transmitted through a keyed shaft end, which provides positive engagement with a coupling, pulley, or gearbox input. The shaft does not have an oil seal, reducing friction during high-speed operation in applications where additional sealing is unnecessary. This motor is Revision 3 and is supplied without a holding brake, so drive-applied torque or an external clamping device must secure a vertical or suspended load when the axis is stationary.
