Product Description:
The 8Lsa66.Eb045d200-3 synchronous servo motor is produced by B & R Automation as part of the 8LS Synchronous Motors series. Designed for precision motion axes, it converts drive output into controlled rotary torque for pick-and-place gantries, indexing tables, and other automated equipment. The unit is supplied in the manufacturer’s standard configuration, carries product revision 3, and uses a 19/12-bit absolute encoder operating on EnDat 2.1 to return high-resolution position data to the machine controller.
The motor develops a continuous shaft output of 7069 W while delivering 15 Nm at a rated speed of 4500 rpm, and the stator draws a nominal current of 13.7 A from the inverter. At this operating point, the copper windings have a resistance of 0.19 Ω and an inductance of 2.1 mH, which influence heating and current regulation bandwidth. An electrical time constant of 11.1 ms indicates how quickly current rises in response to a voltage step, which can aid the tuning of dynamic servo loops. The encoder’s high resolution supports fine velocity control during positioning and speed-regulated operation. A voltage constant of 65.97 V per 1000 rpm establishes the back electromotive force that the drive must overcome during acceleration.
A maximum torque capability of 114.24 Nm provides short-term overload capacity, and a holding brake rated at 32 Nm secures stationary loads when power is removed. With a torque constant of 1.09 Nm/A, the shaft produces predictable torque in relation to the supplied current. The rotor has an inertia of 18.06 kgcm², balancing responsiveness with load-matching requirements. The motor has length code 6 and a 190 mm square flange that supports installation with compatible IEC mounts. Heat retention is represented by a 52-minute thermal time constant, allowing intermittent peak operation while helping the motor remain within its insulation temperature limits. The motor uses the EnDat feedback interface and does not require additional cooling hardware for its stated operating configuration.
