Product Description:
The 8LSA65.EB045D000-3 is a rotary servo motor produced by B & R Automation within the 8LS Synchronous Motors series. As a compact drive element, it delivers controlled torque and position feedback for automated packaging, material-handling, and processing machines. A mounting flange and integrated feedback sensor allow the motor to couple directly to gear trains or belt stages, supplying the responsive motion required for coordinated multi-axis systems. This arrangement supports accurate speed and position control in machinery with repetitive operating cycles.
For applications that require sustained high velocity, the motor reaches a rated speed of 4500 rpm, matched to winding parameters that keep torque ripple low at that operating point. Feedback is provided by an Inductive EnDat sensor embedded in the stator. Protocol version 2.1 supplies absolute position data to the drive over a bidirectional digital link. A front flange measuring 190 mm provides a rigid mounting interface for attachment to gearboxes or machine frames. Electrical power and encoder lines exit through a factory-installed connector, reducing wiring time and supporting organized cable routing. The integrated connection also limits the need for separate terminal hardware around the motor housing.
The encoder delivers 19/12 bits of single-turn and multi-turn resolution, enabling fine interpolation of commanded angles without external recalibration. Its multi-turn counter tracks up to 4096 revolutions, so axis position remains available across power cycles in extended-travel systems. The cable outlet uses an angled connection, allowing the swivel housing to clear adjacent hardware in confined installation spaces while maintaining strain relief. The motor relies on self-cooling through free air circulation, so it can operate without an auxiliary blower. This configuration does not include a holding brake, oil seal, or reinforced bearings. The motor has length code 5 and product revision 3.
