The 8LSA55.R0030D300-0 is a three-phase synchronous motor built by B&R Automation for the 8LS Synchronous Motors series. The unit converts electrical power into regulated rotary motion for positioning tasks in automated machinery. It follows the standard 8LSA configuration, does not have reinforced bearings, and is supplied with length code 5. A keyed shaft end simplifies torque transfer to compatible couplings, pulleys, and gear assemblies. Because the shaft does not have an oil seal, the motor is intended for clean installations where lubricants and contaminants will not reach the bearing area.
The three-phase synchronous design produces constant torque through electronically commutated windings. Under rated conditions, the motor reaches 3000 rpm, making it suitable for servo axes in packaging and pick-and-place equipment. Thermal management relies on self-cooling through free air circulation, so no external blower or coolant loop is needed. The mechanical interface is an IEC square flange measuring 142 mm, allowing direct coupling to compatible reducers or machine frames. Position feedback comes from a shaft-mounted resolver that provides sine-cosine signals for real-time rotor angle calculation and closed-loop motion control.

A standard holding brake locks the rotor when the drive is disabled, preventing unwanted movement on vertical axes or stationary loads. Installation uses the integral mounting flange, allowing the frame to be bolted to a machine plate without additional brackets. The keyed output can then engage a suitable coupling or gear train while maintaining positive torque transfer during acceleration and deceleration. Positioning repeatability is supported by an accuracy window of 10 arcmin, which is suitable for indexing tables and moderate-accuracy handling equipment.
