Product Description:
The 8LSA55.EB030D000-1 is a three-phase synchronous motor produced by B&R Automation for the 8LS Synchronous Motors series. It is intended for industrial axes that require precise speed and position control, and the 8LSA designation suits compact servo packages that mount to a machine frame by flange. By converting electrical power into rotary motion and using encoder feedback for closed-loop control, the motor serves as the drive element in packaging lines, material handling systems, and other automated equipment that require coordinated multi-axis movement. This arrangement lets the connected drive regulate acceleration, holding accuracy, and repeatable indexing during continuous machine cycles.
During operation, the motor reaches a rated speed of 3000 rpm, which is its continuous mechanical speed when used with a matching inverter. The frame uses a square flange with a mounting interface of 142 mm, and length code 5 sets the overall stack height to balance torque and inertia. A mounting flange is provided, and the smooth shaft end simplifies coupling to gears or pulleys without keyways. Power and feedback pass through a sealed connector, while the position loop is closed by an Inductive EnDat encoder that uses EnDat version 2.1. Within each revolution, the sensor provides 19/12 bits of single-turn and multi-turn resolution, enabling accurate velocity and position control.
The internal winding is cooled by self-cooling with free air circulation, so no external blower or liquid circuit is required. Cabling exits through an angled swivel connector that can be rotated to suit restricted cabinet spaces. The rotor has a multi-turn capability of 4096 revolutions, which allows absolute position retention after power loss. The standard 8LSA configuration has no reinforced bearing and is supplied without an oil seal or holding brake.
