Product Description:
The 8LSA44.R0022D100-0 is a synchronous servo motor built by B & R Automation for the 8LS Synchronous Motors series. The 8LSA designation identifies a standard model without reinforced bearings, making it suitable for general machine-tool and packaging axes that require accurate velocity and position control. When paired with a compatible servo drive, the unit converts electrical power into mechanical rotation for indexing loads, tracking product flow, or synchronizing multiple shafts within an industrial cell.
The nominal operating speed is 2200 rpm, supporting medium-speed feed axes without overspeeding the drive electronics. As a three-phase synchronous machine, torque is produced by permanent-magnet excitation that moves in step with the stator field, eliminating slip. A 100 mm square flange follows IEC mounting patterns for direct attachment to compatible gearboxes or machine frames. Heat is removed through self-cooling with free circulation, so no external blower or liquid circuit is required. A resolver senses rotor position and provides analog feedback that remains stable during temperature changes and vibration. The motor uses a length code 4 stator stack within its flanged housing.
Power and feedback cables exit through an angled swivel interface that terminates in an industrial connector. This orientation allows the cable route to be adjusted around nearby machine components while reducing strain at the connection point. The motor has a shaft with a key, enabling positive engagement with keyed couplings and other driven components. The flange maintains a positioning tolerance of 10 arcmin to support accurate mechanical alignment. The motor has no internal oil seal, so it is intended for clean areas or applications in which the driven machine provides external sealing. Because no holding brake is installed, an external mechanism must retain static loads whenever motor power is removed.
