Product Description:
The 8LSA44.E3030C100-0 is a servo motor for motion control applications built by B & R. It provides a straight top-mounted connector and a keyed shaft for better mechanical connection. The motor has an IP64 protection and thermal insulation standard of class F while makes the installations feasible at heights up to 2000 m.
The 8LSA44.E3030C100-0 servo motor’s thermal range for operation is linear from 5°F to 104°F but allows the use at 131°F with decreased performance. It fulfills the requirements of UL and is compatible with ACOPOS drive systems. The 8LSA servo motor performs efficiently at a nominal speed of 3000 r/min to provide reliable and stable motion control utilizing 400 V AC source supply. It uses an optical EnDat encoder to accurately monitor position and speed. The motor’s torque constant value is 1.63 Nm/A and voltage constant is 98.44 V/1000 rounds. The 8LSA servo motor provides a nominal torque of 4.62 Nm as well as a locked torque of 6 Nm and it can withstand a maximum of 22.8 Nm value which is appropriate for reliable load management. It draws 2.8 A of current and a peak current of 21.9 A is required to operate the motor. The 8LSA servo motor includes self-cooling capability and can be mounted on a flange only.
The 8LSA44.E3030C100-0 servo motor can very efficiently deliver electrical performance due to its 3.6Ω stator resistance and 24 mH inductance. It has an electrical time constant of 6.7 ms and 30 minutes thermal time constant for effective heat control over long operating periods. The holding brake is not available as a standard fitting in the 8LSA servo motor and without a holding brake it weighs about 5.4 kg.
Frequently Asked Questions about 8LSA44.E3030C100-0:
Q: How does the 6.7 ms electrical time constant of the 8LSA44.E3030C100-0 affect performance?
A: It ensures rapid current response, which enhances control accuracy and dynamic performance during fast load changes.
Q: Why is a keyed shaft used in the 8LSA44.E3030C100-0 servo motor?
A: The keyed shaft prevents slippage between the motor and the load, ensuring mechanical stability under torque-intensive conditions.
Q: How does self-cooling benefit the 8LSA44.E3030C100-0 in continuous applications?
A: Self-cooling maintains internal temperature without external fans, reducing the risk of thermal overload during long operations.
Q: What is the significance of the 3.6 Ω stator resistance in this motor?
A: It helps regulate current draw, improving overall energy efficiency and ensuring steady thermal characteristics under load.
Q: Is the 8LSA44.E3030C100-0 suitable for vertical installations?
A: Yes, due to its flange-mount design and high locked torque of 6 Nm, it maintains stability in vertical and dynamic setups.
