The 8LSA44.DB045D300-3 is a three-phase synchronous motor produced by B&R Automation for the 8LS Synchronous Motors series. Designed for closed-loop drive systems, the unit converts electrical energy into rotary motion that positions tooling, conveyors, or feed screws with repeatable accuracy in automated machinery. In line-mounted gantries and packaging stations, the motor provides dynamic speed control while minimizing maintenance compared with geared solutions.
Its mechanical interface uses a 100 mm flange that mates directly with a compatible mounting surface. The motor uses standard bearings rather than reinforced bearings. Under rated conditions, the shaft reaches 4500 rpm. Cooling is provided by self-cooling with free air circulation, eliminating the need for an external blower. Connection conductors terminate in an angled swivel connector that supports flexible cable routing around adjacent machine components. A standard holding brake keeps the load stationary when power is removed. The shaft end includes a key for positive engagement with a compatible coupling. This feedback arrangement is compatible with B&R parameter sets assigned to the 8LSA designation. Its digital position data allows the drive to regulate commutation, velocity, and angular position without relying on a separate external measuring system. The balanced rotor assembly supports smooth vector control across the available speed range while helping the servo loop respond consistently to changing loads.
