Rotor position is monitored by an inductive EnDat feedback system that resists contamination and electromagnetic interference. The encoder supports EnDat protocol version 2.2, enabling high-resolution digital communication with compatible B & R drive controllers. Its absolute position word has a resolution of 19/0 bits for single-turn and multi-turn data, respectively, providing 19-bit position feedback within one revolution and no multi-turn tracking. The motor is supplied without a holding brake, so the drive or an external mechanical device must retain any static load when power is removed.
