Product Description:
The 8LSA43.R0022D100-0 synchronous motor is produced by B & R Automation for the 8LS Synchronous Motors series. Delivered in the 8LSA standard configuration without reinforced bearings, the unit is suitable for automation tasks that require continuous rotary motion with feedback. It can power packaging equipment, pick-and-place systems, and general material-handling axes. Its mounting interface aligns the frame with compatible gearboxes, while the output shaft transmits torque to pulleys or couplings. Closed-loop operation allows the connected drive to regulate shaft position and speed as machine loads change.
The motor reaches a rated speed of 2200 rpm, allowing moderate-speed point-to-point moves without external gear reduction. Heat is removed through self-cooling with free air circulation, so no fan or liquid cooling circuit is required for continuous service. Rotor position is monitored through resolver feedback, which supplies analog sine-cosine signals to the drive for closed-loop control. Power and feedback cables exit the housing through an angled swivel connection that supports flexible cable routing in confined installation areas. The mating interface uses a compact connector to keep the electrical connection close to the motor housing. A length code of 3 indicates the stator stack length and corresponding axial profile. The motor does not include a holding brake, so the drive or an external mechanism must retain static loads when the axis stops. No oil seal is fitted at the shaft interface, making the motor better suited to clean applications where lubricant cannot enter the housing.
A square flange dimension of 100 mm provides consistent bolt spacing and supports accurate alignment with the driven equipment. The motor maintains positional repeatability within 10 arcmin because of its tight mechanical tolerances. The output interface has a shaft with a key, providing positive engagement without relying only on friction between the shaft and coupling. Internally, the unit is constructed as a three-phase synchronous motor, delivering smooth torque as the drive regulates current through each electrical cycle. This operating principle supports controlled acceleration, stable speed, and accurate positioning throughout the intended motion range.
