Product Description:
The 8LSA36.R2030D000-3 is a three-phase synchronous motor produced by B&R Automation for the 8LS Synchronous Motors series. In factory automation, it supplies servo-class rotary motion to axes that require consistent torque delivery and stable speed regulation during repeated motion cycles. Its 8LSA designation indicates the standard configuration without a reinforced bearing, and Product Revision 3 reflects the current mechanical update of the design. Because the model is supplied without a holding brake, position must be maintained by external clamping or by drive torque when power is removed.
This motor uses a self-cooling, free circulation concept, which lets ambient air move along the housing and remove heat without forced ventilation. Position feedback is generated by a resolver, a sensor that tolerates high temperatures and electrical noise while providing reliable rotor information to the drive. Power and feedback conductors exit the housing in an angled connection direction, and the integrated connector simplifies wiring while maintaining the enclosure seal. The frame has a flange that measures 91.3 mm across, providing a standardized pilot diameter for mounting. The motor uses length code 6, which corresponds to the stator stack used for this frame size. An oil seal is not fitted, so the unit is intended for applications that do not require sealed shaft protection.
During operation, the rotor can reach 3000 rpm while maintaining the positional accuracy expected in servo-controlled systems. Positioning accuracy is supported by a precision rating of 6 arcmin, which helps the motor deliver repeatable motion in pick-and-place or packaging drives. A smooth shaft enables coupling with backlash-free clamping hubs, and the factory-machined mounting flange helps keep concentricity within tolerance so the motor can fit into gearboxes or direct-drive frames without shims. The motor is best suited for clean, dry areas where airborne particulates are minimal and regular inspection is possible.
