Product Description:
The 8LSA35.R2030D000-3 is a three-phase synchronous motor manufactured by B&R Automation for the 8LS Synchronous Motors series. Version 3 of this 8LSA configuration uses the standard build without reinforced bearings. Its length code of 5 provides a balance between torque capacity and overall housing size. When integrated into a servo axis, the motor converts inverter output into controlled rotary motion for material-handling gantries, assembly stations, and light machining spindles. The housing supports direct installation in compact factory automation equipment where accurate speed and position control are required.
The motor operates at a rated speed of 3000 rpm, allowing it to follow motion profiles in conveyor and indexing applications without field weakening. Its flange face has a diameter of 91.3 mm, providing a compact mechanical interface for compatible gearboxes and direct-drive mounts. Heat is removed through self-cooling with free air circulation, so the motor does not require an auxiliary fan or liquid-cooling jacket under nominal operating conditions. Rotor position feedback is provided by a resolver, which supplies the drive with the angular information needed for closed-loop motion control. The resolver’s durable electromagnetic design also supports operation in industrial areas where elevated temperatures or vibration could affect more delicate feedback devices. Positional repeatability is rated at 6 arcmin, making the motor suitable for general automation tasks that require consistent movement between commanded positions.
An angled swivel connection allows the power and feedback cables to leave the housing at a 90-degree angle. This arrangement reduces cable strain and provides routing flexibility when installation space around the motor is limited. The motor is supplied without a holding brake, so vertical or gravity-loaded axes require an external locking device when power is removed. Torque is transmitted through a smooth shaft end, which accommodates clamping hubs or shrink-fit couplings for low-backlash power transfer. The front bearing area is constructed without an oil seal. The flange area should therefore be protected from direct coolant spray and pressurized lubricants that could enter the bearing area. Appropriate shielding around the mounting interface can reduce exposure while preserving access to the shaft and cable connection.
