The 8LSA35.E1045C200-0 synchronous servo motor is produced by B & R Automation within the 8LS Synchronous Motors series. As a three-phase unit, it delivers rotational positioning and speed control for indexing tables, pick-and-place axes, and motion stages inside automation cells. The motor integrates into machines through its mounting flange and is designed to operate with B & R drive controllers, providing torque regulation without mechanical gearing. It belongs to the 8LSA configuration family, which omits reinforced bearings to keep inertia low.
The mechanical interface uses a 91.3 mm flange for direct attachment to IEC components. Electrical power and feedback cables exit through a straight top connector, and the supplied connector hardware allows quick disconnection. The stator uses self-cooling with free air circulation to remove heat without external blowers. A standard holding brake is fitted, providing static torque retention when power is removed, while the smooth shaft transmits motion without keyway stress. The motor does not have an oil seal. Its length code 5 stack balances torque against mass, and the internal winding and bearing set follow the standard 8LSA arrangement.
The synchronous design supports a rated mechanical speed of 4500 rpm, matching drive algorithms used for high-speed indexing. Position feedback is provided by an optical EnDat encoder that uses protocol version 2.1; this digital connection supplies absolute position data with reduced cabling. The native resolution is 13/12 bits for single-turn and multi-turn tracking, enabling precise velocity control. The encoder supports multi-turn tracking over 4096 revolutions, preserving position information after power cycles. The motor is suited to motion applications in packaging equipment, electronics assembly systems, and material-handling machinery where accurate positioning and controlled speed are required.
