Product Description:
The 8LSA35.DA030S100-3 is a synchronous motor engineered by B & R Automation for the 8LS Synchronous Motors series. With its three-phase electromagnetic design, the unit supplies controlled torque and velocity for positioning tables, gantries, and packaging equipment in automated production lines. Integrated feedback and a compact flange profile allow the motor to be placed close to the driven axis, minimizing transmission losses and simplifying wiring between the cabinet and axis. Its permanent-magnet design supports precise motion when paired with a compatible servo drive and motion controller.
The motor has a rated speed of 3000 rpm, providing adequate headroom for rapid indexing moves without overspeeding the magnetic circuit. A 91.3 mm flange establishes the mounting interface, allowing the housing to fit compatible machine mounting points. The stator uses a three-phase synchronous arrangement, which produces controlled torque across the operating speed range while the drive handles electronic commutation. Heat is dissipated through self-cooling, so the frame relies on natural air circulation rather than an external blower or liquid cooling circuit. Rotor position is captured by an inductive EnDat sensor, enabling reliable digital feedback to the motion controller. The feedback signal allows the drive to regulate shaft position and speed during demanding automated motion cycles.
Power, feedback, and 24 V sensor lines are combined in a single-cable solution, reducing cable drag and the number of connectors required on articulated carriers. The encoder provides 19-bit single-turn and 0-bit multi-turn resolution, supplying 524,288 discrete positions per revolution for precise position and speed control. The motor has no holding brake, so vertical axes require an external clamp or maintained motor current to hold static loads. A mounting flange supports face installation, while the keyed shaft end transmits torque securely to a coupling or driven component. The motor has length code 5 and uses the EnDat 2.2 interface. Product revision 3 identifies this configuration, which also has no oil seal and uses the standard 8LSA bearing package.
