Product Description:
The 8LSA35.D9060S000-3 is a three-phase synchronous motor manufactured by B & R Automation within the 8LS Synchronous Motors series. It supplies coordinated rotary motion for automated handling modules, feeders, and packaging axes that demand accurate speed regulation and high cycle counts. The design supports direct flange mounting to machine frames, allowing tight integration with gearheads or belt drives while minimizing the overall footprint in multi-axis cells.
The motor uses self-cooling with free air circulation, so no external fan or liquid circuit is needed to keep the windings within their temperature limits. Power, feedback, and brake leads are routed through a single-cable hybrid connection that reduces cabinet wiring and simplifies installation of the rear-mounted connector. A mounting interface with a 91.3 mm square flange mates with standard servo gearboxes, and the smooth shaft end transmits torque without keyways, supporting backlash-free clamping couplings. The motor reaches a rated speed of 6000 rpm, giving the axis ample speed for rapid indexing cycles. Because the motor has no holding brake, any static load must be secured by the drive or an external brake. The motor uses standard bearings without reinforcement, making them suitable for moderate radial forces under properly aligned operating conditions.
Position feedback is supplied by an inductive EnDat encoder that uses protocol version 2.2. This measuring system reports motor position with 19/12-bit single-turn and multi-turn data, and it tracks up to 4096 revolutions without losing the stored count after power is removed. Length code 5 indicates the active stack length, while product revision 3 identifies this product build. The stator uses standard gaskets but does not include an oil seal, so the installation must prevent lubricant from entering the motor when it is connected to a lubricated gearhead. A mating connector completes the hybrid connection between the motor and associated cabling. The mounting flange supports the full motor weight without auxiliary feet, allowing the housing to be attached directly to a suitable machine surface.
