Product Description:
The 8LSA34.R0030B000-0 is a three-phase synchronous motor manufactured by B&R Automation for the 8LS Synchronous Motors series. It converts the controlled output of a servo inverter into precise rotary motion, supplying torque and speed for positioning, indexing, and continuous-duty axes on packaging lines, pick-and-place units, and material-handling cells. Its compact frame and low-maintenance construction allow installation close to the working process, including directly on moving carriages. This arrangement can shorten mechanical transmission paths and help conserve space within automated equipment.
The motor’s flange dimension of 91.3 mm establishes the mounting pattern for direct attachment to standardized machine plates. Power and feedback cables exit at 270° to the right through a connector, so wiring can follow the axis profile without tight bends. Heat is removed through self-cooling with free air circulation, eliminating the need for external fans or liquid cooling loops. Rotor position is measured by a resolver, which sends sinusoidal feedback to the drive for closed-loop control. The motor reaches a nominal speed of 3000 rpm, providing suitable linear velocities when paired with typical belt or gear reductions. The 8LSA configuration also includes a standard bearing set without reinforcement, providing suitable load capacity and rotor response for general automation tasks.
The motor has no holding brake, so static load retention must be provided by the drive or an external clamp. Its angular accuracy of 10 arcmin supports repeatable placement in indexing applications. Torque is delivered through a smooth shaft that accepts compression couplings and avoids the stress concentrations associated with a keyway. The stator has length code 4, indicating an extended active iron stack that increases continuous torque without increasing the outer diameter. The motor does not have an oil seal, so the front bearing should be protected when the unit operates near lubricants or other fluids. This shaft arrangement is best suited to installations where the coupling area remains clean and adequately shielded from contamination.
