Product Description:
The 8LSA26.E5060D200-3 is a synchronous servo motor built by B & R Automation and supplied as part of the 8LS Synchronous Motors series. Designed for industrial automation, the unit drives rotary axes that require precise velocity and position regulation in packaging machines, pick-and-place cells, and similar equipment. The motor converts electrical power into controlled mechanical torque, allowing motion controllers to execute coordinated profiles across multiple stations. Its permanent-magnet operation supports responsive acceleration and accurate positioning under changing mechanical loads.
The motor has a flange measuring 58 mm, allowing direct fastening to compatible gearheads and machine plates. Its three-phase synchronous motor design reaches a rated speed of 6000 rpm while remaining within thermal limits through self-cooling and free air circulation. Position feedback is delivered through an optical EnDat encoder that complies with EnDat version 2.1 and provides digital position data to the drive. The winding terminals exit the housing through an angled swivel connector interface, which limits cable stress during installation and allows the cable direction to suit the available machine space.
A standard holding brake secures the shaft when power is removed, helping prevent unintended movement on vertical or gravity-loaded axes. The electrical interface includes a keyed connector that mates with the B & R cabling system and helps prevent incorrect connection. Multi-turn position tracking extends to 4096 revolutions, allowing the drive to retain the shaft position across many complete turns. The encoder provides a resolution of 13/12 bits, corresponding to 13-bit single-turn data and 12-bit multi-turn data. The model uses the 8LSA designation, length code 6, and product revision 3. It has a standard bearing arrangement without a reinforced bearing, while the smooth shaft avoids keyway stresses and the absence of an oil seal reduces rotational drag at high speed.
