Product Description:
B & R Automation manufactures the 8LSA26.R0060D100-0, a three-phase synchronous motor in the 8LS Synchronous Motors series that supplies closed-loop rotary actuation for positioning, conveying, and light machining cells. The 8LSA designation identifies the standard build without reinforced bearings, while length code 6 indicates the housing depth that mates with a 58 mm flange. The rotor shaft is furnished with a keyed end, and a mounting flange is provided for direct coupling to gearboxes or machine frames. Electrical and feedback conductors exit through an angled swivel connector that simplifies cabinet routing. A resolver supplies position feedback, and operation relies on self-cooling with free air circulation. The unit is delivered without a holding brake or oil seal.
At its continuous operating point, the motor produces 0.69 Nm of torque while spinning at 6000 rpm, drawing 0.95 A from a DC link that is maintained at 400 V. The copper windings present 20.8 Ω of resistance and 43.98 V per 1000 rpm of back-EMF, allowing accurate voltage-based speed estimation. Start-up current rises to 1.10 A, developing 0.80 Nm of stall torque until motion begins. For short acceleration bursts, the amplifier may supply up to 5 A, letting the rotor reach a peak torque of 3.20 Nm. Response time is aided by a 1.8 ms electrical time constant, and thermal equilibrium is reached over a 30 minute period, so cyclic loads can be applied without exceeding winding limits.
The magnetic circuit carries 37.5 mH of inductance, which filters current ripple and stabilizes the velocity loop. The motor converts every ampere into rotational effort at a rate of 0.73 Nm/A, and positional repeatability is held within 10 arcmin. An enclosure rating of IP64 protects against dust ingress and multidirectional splashing, supporting installation near process equipment.
