Product Description:
The 8LSA25.D9060S300-3 is a three-phase synchronous motor built by B&R Automation for the 8LS Synchronous Motors series. Its 8LSA configuration omits reinforced bearings yet supports compact drive axes that need precise closed-loop speed and position control. Designed for flange mounting, the unit integrates easily with lightweight pick-and-place heads, labeling stations, and similar automation equipment that operates with limited available power.
The rated speed reaches 6000 rpm, and at that speed the motor delivers continuous power of 327 W. Peak load events can be handled with a maximum torque of 2.4 Nm, while the winding can absorb up to 3.7 A of current before control limits take effect. The stator inductance of 49.6 mH works with a stator resistance of 34.63 Ω to influence current rise time and drive tuning. Continuous operation typically draws 0.71 A and produces 0.52 Nm, whereas the stall torque is 0.6 Nm for initial breakaway. Four pole pairs interact with a voltage constant of 43.98 V/1000 rpm to synchronize motion, and a rotor inertia of 0.16 kg cm² supports fast acceleration without placing excessive load on the gearing.
Electrical feedback is provided by an inductive EnDat 2.2 encoder with 19/12 bits of single-turn and multi-turn resolution, respectively; its multi-turn counter tracks 4,096 revolutions. The brake clamps the shaft with 2.2 Nm of holding torque. The torque constant is 0.73 Nm/A, allowing the controller to predict force from the measured current. A single hybrid cable combines the power and encoder lines in one connector, while the 58 mm flange, length code 5, and keyed shaft simplify installation. The motor uses self-cooling through free air circulation and carries product revision 3. It is supplied without an oil seal and comes in the standard 8LSA form with mounting hardware.
