It integrates with B&R drive systems to convert electrical power into precise mechanical motion while keeping the motor package suitable for space-limited equipment. This layout is commonly used where compact servo axes must fit beside tooling, conveyors, or transfer modules without sacrificing motion accuracy.
The motor uses the 8LSA configuration, so it is supplied in the standard build without reinforced bearings, and its length code 5 housing ends in a flange that measures 58 mm across. Power and feedback are routed through a single-cable solution with a sealed connector, which simplifies wiring in modular machines and reduces the number of separate cable runs at the axis. Internal heat is removed by self-cooling with free air circulation, eliminating the need for external fans or liquid jackets. Rotor position is read by an Inductive EnDat sensor that uses version 2.2 protocol and provides 19 single-turn bits with no multi-turn data. With a rated mechanical speed of 6000 rpm, revision 3 supports high dynamic response for fast positioning tasks.
A standard holding brake maintains shaft position during power-off conditions, which is useful when the load must remain in place at a stop. The output is a smooth shaft, allowing direct coupling to precision hubs without keyways. That arrangement is suited to clean machine sections where accurate shaft alignment is more important than keyed torque transfer. An integral mounting flange aligns the motor with the machine frame, and because an oil seal is not present, the application must exclude pressurized lubrication at the motor face. The stator uses a three-phase synchronous winding system, and the encoder supplies single-turn position information only.
