Product Description:
The 8LSA23.D9060S200-3 is a three-phase synchronous motor built by B&R Automation for the 8LS Synchronous Motors series. Delivered in the standard 8LSA configuration without reinforced bearings, the motor serves as a compact servo actuator for positioning and velocity control on packaging lines, pick-and-place gantries, and similar automation equipment. Its permanent-magnet design supports responsive torque generation when operated with a compatible servo drive. The motor can be attached directly to gearboxes, machine brackets, or other rigid mounting surfaces. Its compact housing is suitable for applications where installation space is limited and rapid axis movement is required.
The motor reaches a rated speed of 6000 rpm, allowing short cycle times when paired with suitable gearing. A flange size of 58 mm aligns the stator housing with mating equipment and provides a stable mechanical connection. Rotor position is measured with an inductive EnDat encoder that uses EnDat 2.2 for bidirectional digital communication with the drive. Power, feedback, and brake conductors use a single-cable hybrid connection, reducing cabinet penetrations and simplifying cable routing through one keyed connector. Thermal regulation relies on self-cooling through free air circulation, so the motor does not require forced-air or liquid-cooling accessories. Adequate clearance around the housing allows ambient air to remove heat generated during normal operation.
A standard holding brake engages when the drive disables torque, helping prevent load drift on vertical axes. The encoder provides a resolution of 19/12 bits for single-turn and multi-turn position measurement, supporting accurate speed regulation and absolute positioning. Torque is transmitted through a smooth shaft, which accommodates backlash-free clamping hubs without requiring a keyed connection. The absolute position range extends across 4096 multi-turn revolutions, allowing the drive to retain the axis position through extended power interruptions. The active motor stack has length code 3, and the product carries revision 3. The shaft is supplied without an oil seal, making it appropriate for clean coupling areas where additional sealing is unnecessary. Its connector-based interface allows the hybrid cable to be routed without separate power and feedback connectors.
