Product Description:
The 8LAS75.EA030D600-3 is a three-phase synchronous motor manufactured by B&R Automation for the 8LS Synchronous Motors series. Intended for servo axes in packaging, printing, and material-handling equipment, it converts controlled drive power into precise rotary motion while sending absolute position data back to the controller. This compact unit fits into machine frames that require fast indexing, tight repeatability, and minimal maintenance. Its synchronous design supports controlled acceleration and accurate positioning when paired with a compatible servo drive.
Its nominal shaft speed is rated at 3000 rpm, which can be maintained continuously without thermal derating when the paired inverter supplies the rated current. Position feedback is generated by an inductive EnDat encoder that uses protocol revision 2.1, allowing the drive to read absolute position, temperature, and electronic nameplate data over a single serial link. Mechanical attachment follows an ISO pattern with a 190 mm flange, simplifying direct coupling to gearboxes or load disks that share the mounting pattern. The rotor terminates in a smooth shaft, so clamp or shrink-fit couplings can be used where backlash or fretting from keyways is unacceptable. This shaft arrangement also provides a uniform coupling surface for applications that do not require keyed torque transmission.
Cabling exits the housing through an angled swivel connector, allowing the plug to be rotated for practical routing in tight machine spaces or energy chains. A factory-installed oil seal protects the front bearing against coolant or lubricant ingress. The motor does not include a holding brake, which shortens its overall length in accordance with length code 5. The encoder provides single-turn absolute feedback with a resolution of 19/0 bits, representing 19 bits of position data within one revolution and no multi-turn position data. Fine angular increments support precise interpolation when the encoder is used with high-resolution drive algorithms. The motor is supplied as product revision 3 and uses the standard configuration for the 8LS platform.
