Product Description:
The 8KSJ76.E7030B100-0 is a three-phase synchronous motor manufactured by B&R Automation within the 8KS Synchronous Motors series. In automated production lines, it converts electrical power into precisely timed rotary motion that can be coordinated with servos, conveyors, or spindles. Its synchronous operation provides controlled torque and position feedback for indexing tables, pick-and-place equipment, and other motion-controlled machinery. The motor can also operate in systems that require consistent shaft positioning through repeated production cycles.
At a nominal speed of 3000 rpm, the rotor can execute motion profiles while remaining within its thermal limits. Position data comes from a multi-turn encoder with a native resolution of 2048 lines per revolution. The encoder tracks up to 4096 complete turns, allowing the controller to retain absolute position information after a power cycle. Communication follows the EnDat 2.1 protocol, and the optical sensing system maintains a repeatability of ±20 arcseconds at the flange. Because the unit is supplied without a holding brake, external clamping or drive-generated torque must secure stationary loads. This arrangement allows the feedback system to monitor both the angular position within a revolution and the number of completed revolutions.
The motor uses a flange mounting interface, and an optional B-side base can provide additional support for heavier gearboxes. Its keyed shaft provides positive torque transfer to compatible couplings or hubs. The housing has length code 6, allowing it to fit deep, narrow installation spaces on portal axes and similar machinery. A water-cooled jacket surrounds the stator and removes heat generated during operation. The cooling unit is mounted on the right, allowing its water lines to follow a shared routing path along the machine. Power and feedback conductors exit through a top-mounted terminal box that can be rotated 270 degrees to the right for alignment with vertical cable trays. The motor is version 0 and uses the 8KSJ construction type. It is supplied without an oil seal, which should be considered when selecting the installation environment and planning protection around the shaft opening.
