Product Description:
The VAC0YC020 is an 8I6 series ACOPOS inverter from B and R Automation, built for integration within POWERLINK-based control architectures. It features an M12 8-pin female connector for field-level hybrid signal and power transmission. This inverter module operates with a nominal input voltage of 24 VDC within a tolerance range of -15% to +20%, in compliance with SELV and PELV standards.
The VAC0YC020 module includes an RJ45 female connector and a single 3-pin power supply interface, along with an additional M12 8-pin female connector for external connectivity. Its rated power is 192 W, that is divided across two internally protected lines rated at 96 W each and the power lines require an external 10 A slow-blow fuse for overcurrent protection. This module’s data transmission conforms to ISO/IEC 11801 Category 5 / Class D specifications to support frequencies up to 100 MHz and a maximum transfer rate of 100 Mbit/s. It meets CE marking requirements for electromagnetic compatibility and low voltage directives. The VAC0YC020 unit supports unrestricted mounting orientation and it is suitable for installation on elevations up to 2000 m without derating while above 2000 m, the ambient temperature must be reduced by 0.5°C per 100 m increase in altitude, up to a maximum of 5000 m. It is rated for pollution degree 2 and overvoltage category II as per EN 60664-1.
The VAC0YC020 module is enclosed in an IP20 rated case to ensure cabinet-level protection and the M12 interface possess an IP67 protection. Its operating temperature range is -20°C to +60°C, with relative humidity tolerance of 5 to 95%, non-condensing. The VAC0YC020 unit comes with mechanical dimensions of 88.0 mm (W) × 38.6 mm (L) × 30.0 mm (H) and it weighs 80 grams.
Frequently Asked Questions about VAC0YC020:
Q: What is the benefit of the hybrid M12 8-pin connector on the VAC0YC020?
A: The hybrid M12 8-pin connector enables simultaneous power and signal transmission, simplifying wiring in dense field installations and reducing potential connection errors.
Q: How does the VAC0YC020 ensure data integrity over long distances?
A: It uses ISO/IEC 11801 Cat 5/Class D-compliant data transfer, maintaining signal quality up to 100 MHz and enabling robust communication at 100 Mbit/s.
Q: Why are two separate 96 W internal lines used in the VAC0YC020 module?
A: This split-power design ensures redundancy and better thermal distribution, reducing load stress on a single line during continuous operation.
Q: What role does the external 10 A slow-blow fuse play in VAC0YC020's protection?
A: It safeguards against overcurrent surges by allowing short bursts during startup without tripping, which protects sensitive internal electronics from damage.
Q: Can the VAC0YC020 be integrated into safety-critical systems?
A: Yes, it complies with SELV and PELV standards, making it suitable for low-voltage environments where electrical safety is a priority.
