The 8I66T400055.0P-000 is an inverter module produced by B&R Automation for the 8I6 ACOPOS Inverters series. It converts a fixed 500 Vac line supply into a variable-frequency, variable-voltage output that allows a connected induction or permanent-magnet motor to accelerate, decelerate, and maintain commanded speed in conveyors, pick-and-place axes, and packaging machinery. Its integrated Powerlink interface connects the inverter directly to the machine control system for cyclic setpoint exchange, status reporting, and diagnostic feedback during automatic operation.

When operated from a 500 Vac supply, the inverter is rated for an apparent power of 1.6 kVA and has an inrush current of 10 A when the DC link is first charged. During steady operation, it draws 1.9 A from the line and supplies that value as its nominal motor output current, while short peaks up to 2.9 A are permitted. The switching stage operates at 4 kHz to balance motor noise and switching loss, and the Powerlink Type 3 bus handles deterministic communication between the drive and the control system. For protection, the unit withstands prospective fault currents up to 5 kA and requires an external braking resistor of at least 80 Ω to absorb regenerated energy.
