The 8EI8X8MWT10.0600-1 is a 3-axis servo drive built by B & R Automation for the 8EI Servo Drives series. In an ACOPOS P3 cabinet, it supplies pulse-width-modulated power to three motors for coordinated motion control. It also reads EnDat 2.2 encoder signals so speed and position loops remain closed during automated machine operation.
Each axis can deliver a continuous phase current of 8.8 Aeff, which defines the current the drive can supply indefinitely under rated thermal conditions. For short acceleration events, it tolerates peaks of 24 Aeff, giving additional headroom for transient load demand. The input stage accepts 3×200–230 VAC or 1×110–230 VAC, which supports use in plants with either three-phase or single-phase service. The inverter can reach an output frequency of 598 Hz, supporting motors that need high commanded electrical speed.
Switching occurs at a nominal carrier frequency of 5 kHz, which helps balance acoustic behavior and semiconductor losses. A DC-link capacitance of 1880 µF stores regenerated energy and helps stabilize bus voltage during rapid torque changes. Motion commands and status data move across the backplane at 6.25 Mbit/s, which suits coordinated multi-axis communication. An internal braking resistor dissipates moderate over-voltage energy inside the housing, so many systems do not need an external resistor.
