Product Description:
The 8EI8X8HWTS0.0700-1 servo drive is manufactured by B&R Automation as part of the 8EI Servo Drives series. This 3-axis ACOPOS P3 unit provides coordinated control for multiple synchronous or induction motors used in packaging, handling, and printing machines. By combining power electronics, SafeMOTION safety, and integrated feedback processing in one housing, it reduces cabinet complexity and supports synchronized motion across several machine functions. The integrated Ethernet hub also helps organize network connections between neighboring nodes without requiring a separate switch for every drive.
The drive accepts a three-phase supply of 3x 200-480 VAC and supports a continuous phase current of 8.8 Aeff per output. Each axis has a continuous rating of 4 kW, which suits medium-inertia loads while keeping the unit within its installed power range. Pulse-width modulation operates at a nominal switching frequency of 5 kHz, and the inverter can generate output frequencies up to 598 Hz for high-speed servo or spindle operation. An internal braking resistor absorbs regenerative energy during deceleration, and line filtering is external because the unit does not include an integrated filter.
Network connection is provided by two shielded RJ45 ports operating at 100 Mbit/s, and the built-in hub supports daisy-chain wiring to other ACOPOS P3 nodes. Three encoder interfaces provide the digital feedback required by the safety functions, and a front cover protects the terminals during operation. The unit draws an inrush current of 45 A after a mandatory 60-second switch-on interval and can deliver peak output power of 10 kW during short dynamic moves. Each brake connection can supply up to 1.3 A to a motor holding brake. Wall mounting and the included connector set 2 with a two-row plug support cabinet installation, while plug-in expansion modules are not included.
