The 8EI8X8HWT10.0200-1 is a servo drive module produced by B&R Automation for the 8EI Servo Drives series within the ACOPOS P3 8EI product line. This multi-axis unit converts three-phase AC power into pulse-width-modulated output for commanding synchronous motors in automated machinery. Closed-loop regulation of velocity, position, and torque allows the module to coordinate controlled movement between a machine controller and connected mechanical axes. It supports demanding packaging, printing, and material-handling equipment that requires high cycle rates, accurate positioning, and synchronized motion.
The drive is delivered in a 3-axis module format that consolidates several controlled axes within one cabinet-mounted unit. Each channel supplies a continuous current of 8.8 A rms, allowing compatible medium-frame servomotors to operate continuously without current-related derating. The input stage accepts 3 × 200–480 VAC, accommodating common industrial power systems without requiring transformer tap changes. Mechanical installation uses wall mounting, and the flat rear plate transfers generated heat to the enclosure back panel. Safety functionality is provided by hardwired STO with encoder feedback, which removes torque-producing drive energy when the connected safety circuit opens. This arrangement allows the safety function to operate through dedicated wiring rather than depending on a fieldbus connection.
The unit includes Connector Set 1, which provides a single-row connection interface for power, signal, and encoder wiring. The organized connection layout keeps motor power and feedback conductors accessible while reducing wiring congestion inside the enclosure. Because of the lack of a plug-in module, fieldbus communication or additional input and output functions must be connected through external equipment. An internal braking resistor is not installed, so regenerated energy must be directed to an external braking resistor or managed through a shared DC bus. The included molded front cover protects the connection area from incidental contact while preserving access for installed wiring. Cabinet ventilation and mounting clearances should permit heat to move away from the rear plate during sustained multi-axis operation.
