Product Description:
The 8EI8X8HWS10.M600-1 servo drive module is produced by B&R Automation within the 8EI Servo Drives series, a subset of the ACOPOS P3 8EI servo drive family. It converts three-phase mains power to regulated outputs that command synchronous or induction motors in production cells, packaging lines, and robotic stations. This lets the unit support positioning, speed control, and coordinated axis movement in automated equipment. By integrating current regulation, axis control, and interface hardware in one enclosure, the product supplies the motor power needed for precise closed-loop motion. The housing also slides beside related modules to build multi-axis racks, which supports compact installation when several axes are grouped in one cabinet.
The drive supplies 8.8 Aeff of continuous phase current, enough for mid-frame servo motors without overheating. It accepts 3× 200–480 VAC line power, so one model can operate on 208 V, 400 V, and 480 V systems. That wide input range allows the same drive type to fit plants with different utility standards. A built-in internal braking resistor absorbs regenerative energy during rapid deceleration, so an external brake chopper is not required. Machine safety is provided by hardwired STO safety technology with encoder, which disables torque as soon as the safety chain opens. Feedback enters through the analog multi-encoder interface, allowing resolver or analog encoder signals for closed-loop operation.
The enclosure supports wall mounting, which helps maintain airflow while keeping the footprint narrow. The delivered configuration is a 1-axis module, so the unit is intended to control one motor axis from a single enclosure. Power and control leads terminate on the factory-installed single-row connector set, and the lack of a two-row connector reduces the depth required behind the panel. A front cover protects the terminals, and the module is supplied with the standard option code. These features keep the layout straightforward in cabinets where space around the drive section is limited.
